Getting certified in Mental Health First Aid is one important way I’m honoring Mental Health Awareness Month this May.

We all rely on mental health. It’s at the core of what we need as humans to live purposeful lives, cope with stress, and realize our unique visions of success.

Mental health comes up in leadership, career, and life coaching ALL THE TIME, and it is too often…

I wanted to equip myself to support people struggling with their mental health in a way that’s effective and appropriate, and Mental Health First Aid was a great way for me to build on the tools I’ve learned as a Certified Professional Coach.

To be clear, there are limits to my capacity to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges. I am not a physician, psychologist, or social worker. But there is a lot I can do to help.

And there is a lot that you can do, too.

Training in Mental Health First Aid gave me the tools to identify and address early, worsening, and crisis signs of a mental health challenge, as well as a framework to help connect adults who may be experiencing a mental health challenge with appropriate support and a path to recovery.
